We have created the following backup services to accommodate the needs of a wide range of individuals and businesses. 

NOTE: Remember the size of storage space you need is not the same as the size of your hard drive.  Typically only the data is stored - not the entire hard drive.  Although we can periodically create an image of your hard drive using another program for an additional fee.

What makes us different from other backup companies is that we don't charge you anything extra when you need to restore your data.  Most companies will charge you an extra arm and a leg when you need to get your data back.  That is all included in our monthly price!

Home Backup

Home - Personal Use Plan:   Backup your entire personal data. Home Computer music, data, pictures and more can be backed up to 2 GB of compressed data storage. Perfect for Home Users with critical home files and documents such as digital camera photos or home movies, checkbooks, etc.
1 full backup per month with daily incremental backups will be performed and checked daily for successful backups. After 2 unsuccessful backups our office will call you to make sure there is not a problem with your internet connection or backup configuration.
Backups are completely dependant on high speed internet connection and the computer being turned on. Backups will not be performed if the computer is turned off or the internet is not working.
TechKnow Solutions, Inc. cannot be responsible for unsuccessful backups because the computer is turned off or the internet connection is down.
On-Site secondary backups are strongly recommended. Contact our office for additional details.
A rolling month of backups will be saved. Backups beyond 1 month will be purged.

Small Business Backup Plan: Backup your entire office data. Server plus multiple workstations can back up to 7 GB of compressed data storage. Perfect for professionals, telecommuters, and small offices with a few key files to protect. 
1 full backup per month with daily incremental backups will be performed and checked daily by qualified staff, for successful backups. After 2 unsuccessful backups our office will call you to make sure there is not a problem with your internet connection or backup configuration.
Backups are completely dependant on high speed internet connection and the computers (servers/workstations) being turned on. Backups will not be performed if the computer is turned off or the internet is not working.

1 full backup per month with daily incremental backups will be performed and checked daily by qualified staff, for successful backups. After 2 unsuccessful backups our office will call you to make sure there is not a problem with your internet connection or backup configuration.

 Custom Backup Plans: Create your own backup system customized to your specific needs using our products and expertise. Our backup products can be installed at your location. Considering a business might pay an employee $12 per hour to perform backups, 5 days a week, for 1 hour per day, their cost would be $270, that's a savings of up to $250.00 per month! You also have the added assurance that your data is completely secure offsite.

Q: What if we already have a tape backup system?
 Using a tape backup system and a remote backup system offers the best of both worlds. Critical files, like billing, customer contact files and databases can be kept on the remote backup system. While, the tape system can be used to create a full backup of the entire system once or twice a month, instead of on a daily basis. The tapes and drive will last longer and require less maintenance. The remote backup system can provide a quick and easy way to retrieve critical files and databases without the hassle of searching through tapes.

Q: How long will a remote backup take?
 Offices with high-speed internet connections should find this service comparable with tape drives. The initial backup can take several nights to complete depending on the size of your backups. We recommend performing the initial backup over a weekend.

Q: Onsite, Offsite - What's The Difference?
 Basically, remote backups work like regular tape backups, with one important difference. Instead of sending backups to a tape drive or other media attached to the computer being backed up, a remote backup sends encrypted file data over the internet to a computer file storage system safely off-site.
This usually happens at night while your business is closed and nobody is using the computers. It's completely automatic. In fact, you may forget it's working every night.

Q: Why Are Remote Backups Considered More Beneficial?
 The data is immediately stored off-site using an automated backup system. Also, only an internet connection is needed. Completely eliminating the need for expensive backup
equipment and media. And, since the system is automated, manual labor is eliminated.

Q: How Secure Are Remote Backups?
 Very. All files are encrypted using Blowfish or DES encryption which is selected by the user with their own personal encryption code which is only known by the user of the system. Blowfish encryption has never been broken by a hacker. DES is used by the federal banking system.
